why are you so excited about higher taxes? i understand the need for more roads, drainage. but aren't we already paying fuel, license taxes for these? as far as schools are concerned, if we have more people here than ever before, don't we have more property taxes being paid? i am a fiscal conservative and feel that the pro-bond people (developers and those being fed by developers) were disingenuous by saying that there would be NO tax increase. From what i now read, there would have been a tax DECREASE had no bond been approved. And now, i read that the lack of an increase is only guaranteed for 2 years! That's a politician for you.

i am fairly new to san antonio. Have these bond proposals failed in years past? Do they usually pass? I just fled the over-taxation of california. Should I expect the same over here?

Can you describe the 5 bonds or direct me to a site that describes them. I'm shamefully uninformed.

I am a fiscal conservative as well. I've never read anywhere "absolutely NO tax increase", only "there should be no tax increase" I think we will be quite lucky if the solution is revenue neutral.
Honestly , dumping some funds into infrastructure especially on the southside is a good idea. The parks money is well spent, I grew up in a city with many fine parks. I havent been to the librarys here in SA, but one must be huge 325k for a roof? The $800,000 on public healh care cheap compared to the roof on the library. Lets hope the city managers get us the best bang for the buck and create value for all in these bonds.
