Another spot to talk about High School Football for the Region 4 people. We do not get any respect from the rest of the state. Congrats to Clark,Brandeis,Stevens, and O'Connor for making it. The 1st round games are this weekend and I hope we have great turnouts for all of them.

Very impressive that Brandeis is in the playoffs already after only being in existence for 2 years! Stevens is maybe 2-3 years older than that? Also impressive! Go NISD!!

Stevens went last year for what I believe was the first time and made it to the second round. Hopefully they go even further this year!

Stevens did beat Judson last year at Judson 14-12 but lost big the next weekend at the Alamodome to Austin Westlakes. Stevens is again playing Judson 1st round but this is at Gus stadium @ 7:30pm this Friday. Go Falcons

It's strange not to see Smithson Valley in the playoffs this year. First time since 1995 or '96 they haven't been in, IIRC.

I'm pumped for the second season. But Region 4 doesn't merit respect from the rest of the state (I'm speaking strictly about football here, fun police). Before Judson ISD split into 2 high schools, they were always competitive with anyone in the state. But that was about it (barring a couple of good Smithson Valley teams).

Year-in year-out, Dallas, Houston, and East Texas play much better football.

Still, good luck to all local teams (Tivy foremost amongst them). I'd love to see an SA team win it all.

I'd really like to see some SA teams at the top of the game in the state. It has been a long time since SA has been able to compete with the likes of Southlake Carrol or Midland schools or even austin westlake. Good luck to all SA teams in the playoffs!
