Sometimes you come across tasks at home that you can't do yourself , you have no one else to help you; a project that doesn't quite need a contractor but rather a handyman. Has anyone here used such handyman services in SA. Looking for feedback. I think I've seen some listed on BBB website, but was also wanting to see if anyone here could give me some insight on their experiences. Thanks...

I've used ServiceMagic.com. You choose a category to search what you're looking for, fill out a form, and if they have contractors that match your needs, they'll email you contact info and also forward your info to those contractors. I found 2 excellent electricians and someone to pour some concrete from this site.

There's also another site called Handyman Connection. I didn't have much success with their referral for fence repair though. I ended up paying my daughter's boyfriend to fix the fence in the end.

Always remember to ask for references and to see their licenses. And it never hurts to check them on the BBB too before you decide to hire for a job.

Paka, do you mind sending me a PM with the same info? With hubby's long work hours, I could sure use a hand around the house with some stuff.
