Where exactly is that? Is that the road that runs between the shopping center wally world is in and Alamo Ranch? Trying to figure out how that area could flood.

I probably could have made it, but I didn't want to risk it. Even people making it over Culebra Creek (not actually flooded over the road, just branches and mud deposited from flooding this morning) were having to turn around up ahead. YIKES!

I didn't think it was worth the risk.

The rain finally stopped, whew!

From mysa.com's front page:

San Antonio Police are working a high-water rescue at FM 471 near Loop 1604 on the Far Northwest Side. An unknown number of people were reportedly missing after being swept away.

That area hasn't flooded before. What's up with this? and what neighborhood is that? I'm not looking forward to my trip home after work, especially since I planned on stopping by Super Target @ AR

i usually never go out when it pours like this, but...they were having a major sale on purses and mine just broke. Girl has to have priorities ya know Anyhoo, other than the speeders I thought the roads were pretty good on the north side and near Fiesta Texas.

What a storm though!! We had our own lake form in the backyard and at one point I feared we may have to build our own raft and paddle to higher ground...

The MySA article has a map that says the rescue is inside 1604 @ Culebra. I thought Alamo PKWY was outside 1604? Still don't remember seeing any flooding in that area before, so it must have something to do with that SAWS bazillion $ thing they're building back there.

and speaking of purses and rain.. I used the Coach Outlet as a diversion while I was in Michigan. I wanted to eat dinner at this place, but it was raining and my wife wanted to leave, so dinner ended up costing over $200... actually over $300 since there was also souvenir shopping while waiting to get hungry for dinner.

This is what starts high-water rescues.....they couldn't ticket you for going around barricades because there were none but the rescue itself.....$$$$$$...
