Some street-racing hit-and-run douchebag totaled my beloved Subaru on Saturday (it was parked, nobody in it, thank goodness) so I'm on the hunt for a new (to me) car.

I've been looking online at Autotrader and such-type places all day, and seeing as I'm sick of staring at the computer and cranky as hell I'd really like to go kick it one of my neighborhood drinking establishments, enjoy a couple of pints, and circle some used-car ads.

My question is: Does the Reader have decent used car ads? Are the Auto Trader paperback publications still around (went to 2 7-11s and couldn't find one)? What about the U-T, any good for car ads? Any other suggestions for something I can physically carry with me and read through that might help me out would be appreciated.

If not I'll just have to take a good book and feel guilty that I'm not doing my research. But I am DEFINITELY gonna need a couple pints after this weekend.

(I figured I'd make a long story short, lemme know if you want to hear the whole adventure )

The same thing happened to my full size van when I lived in the East Village. It was parked on Market Street, and got totalled.

The Auto Trader publications are still around. They come out on Friday afternoons. Besides 7-11, the grocery stores and drugstores should have them. I bought both of my vans (full size & mini) from the Auto Trader.

Sorry about your car. What about craigslist? And yes, the printed Auto Trader is still around.

Might as well add: If anyone's looking to get rid of a car, I'm looking for

<$6K, <80K miles, and 2005 or newer

Never hurts to put it out there
