If anyone has been following sports news lately, the NFL and players union are in court and are in a lockout.

Well because of the lockout, it appears there is a little clause in the contract with the City of San Diego and the beloved SD Chargers. The Chargers just told the city they are not paying rent anymore.

I for one have never been interested in a tax payer stadium as I have stated in other posts and this is a scenario I would have never thought of either. This is yet another reason why taxpayers should never be on the hook for a profit making enterprise like the NFL or its owners.

So for all of the fans that think they make a difference whether or not the Chargers stay, guess what? Its a business that works for profit in cash, not rah rah's and loyalty in dog years.
If anything, its the players you root for who are on the field, NOT the organization itself which has made billions in profits.

"Force Majeure" also applies to the fans. Season ticket holders will not be required to buy tickets if the games are not played (or receive refunds if they prepaid).

Life is a contract. Negotiate well.

As usual, I agree with you 100% Shmoov. I'm not interested in tax payer supported stadiums. If it's such a great money making potential business you will get some billionaire to fund it. Now more than ever I believe taxpayers shouldn't be on the hook for more things than they already are now.

It's sad that a Raiders fan has to come in here and defend the chargers.
I got no defense today though.
Im starting to change my view on this new stadium thing.
