As someone who is new to the area, but unfortunately works a an 8-5, what do San Diegans do once they get off work? We live in such a beautiful county with beautiful year round weather, but as the days get shorter, we'll be soon limited to how much we can do with the natural sunlight on weekdays!

During the week, I fire up my jacuzzi and watch the stars.

On the weekends, we'll sometimes also head to one of the beaches that allow bonfires. That's fun even when it gets chillier.

And, in December, there's the parade of lights on the bay and December nights at Balboa Park. Oh, and ice skating at Horton Plaza and the Viejas Casino. (I heard they also had an ice skating rink at Liberty Station last year).

I'm in a group on meetup that has a ton of members, free to join, and is very active. They do a ton of stuff on weeknights, like movies, book club, meet for dinner/drinks to try out different types of food, bonfires. If you'd like the name, send me a PM and I'll supply it - not sure if the link would be allowed in the comments.

During the summer months I hike, go to the beach, etc after work. After the time change I usually switch to the gym, or go for a bike ride (fully lit and helmeted!) or hike in Balboa park or the neighborhood, where it's lit, except for the around the full moon when I night-hike.
