Hi my name is Kelly(male)(age 22) I'm currently enrolled in a university in Buffalo New York, and I want to move to San Diego and also transfer to a college there. I already have an associates degree in liberal arts which i don't think will land me a job other than a office assistant ,and I'am working on a degree in computer information. I have no one out there to guide me and I'm one of the first in my family to actually leave my city and have a college education . I'M looking for an apartment between the price of 700-1000 dollars maybe with some benefits included electricity, internet etc etc and also like and estimate of how much i need total to live by each month like with all the basic bills phone bill tv bill car bills etc etc is. I will have about 8,000 coming into the city and I plan to move May 2016 . What information do i need will i be able to live off minimum wage there i herd the get paid 11 dollars compared to Buffalo's 8.75. Looking at going to city college in San Diego . What areas should i live and also what area should i avoid . I love the hustle and excitement of the city but i like my quite life but hate the burbs. Any ideas someone please help and reply sorry for any punctuation and grammar mistakes writing this right before work .

Pipe dream. Best to stay in Buffalo IMO and save more and continuing planning your move for a later date.

If you want to attend City College, which is a 2 year school, the surrounding neighborhoods are downtown San Diego, South Park, North Park, Banker's Hill, Golden Hill.

You might check for apartment listings for any of those areas to see what you could find.

Maybe a studio in golden hill or close by downtown near Hillcrest for $875, more than likely you will pay for everything except maybe garbage. Best idea is to rent a room near downtown save up until you are settled in the city.

You'd need to live in California for at least a year to qualify for in-state tuition.

Why would you attend a two year school if you already have a two year degree? It jobs of the lower rung type are scarce because of outsourcing.

Mesa is supposed to offer 4 year degrees soon. SDSU, USD, UCSD are all 4 year schools. Engineering or IT you probably want to look at UCSD. Pricey school though. I understand if you need to pick up other credits for a different degree though.

Yeah I was thinking about a 4 year school
But I only need according to advisor one more year and a semester . I will have about 8,000 going there for the one person who thinks I'm going there with nothing if I can find something for 800 to 1000 plus I will have a job lined up so I think I will be ok just thought I would get some input .
