We are extremely excited to be able to get out to the west coast and see some relatives we have not seen in awhile. We have never been to San Diego and wanted to find out about some fun things to do that aren't your typical touristy things to do. I do want to go to the zoo there, we don't have to see Sea World, done that in Florida. Is there any scenic areas to visit for picnics?

Point Loma is a beautiful site to see - it is a "touristy" thing but there are amazing views of the city, Coronado and the ocean from there, some history and beautiful nature and tidepools to exlore. It is a great picnic spot. Highly recommend it!

Definitely go to La Jolla Cove.

The beauty of this beach is UNBELIEVABLE !!!

It is probably the most beautiful beach in the entire continental U.S.
