Default Rental Market in North County - Carmel Valley, Encinitas, La Jolla

I am contemplating purchasing a 2bedroom condo in Carmel Valley, Encinitas or La Jolla and may want to rent it out a year down the line. Does anyone know how easy it is to rent out a condo in those neighborhoods and which one may be the most desirable by renters? Also how much do rental usually go for in those neighborhoods?

rentals in la jolla go for more than either carmel valley or encinitas usually. Encinitas it really depends on where it is located. Generally the closer to the ocean the more you can get for it and the less nice it has to be. Condos usually are renting roughly between 1700 to about 2300 for a two or maybe three bedroom. (with less options on the low end....maybe there are some high end condos going for a lot more than this, I just never looked for those) or so depending on where it is and how nice they are. Anyway that is just what my experience has been in encinitas area.

You can use craigslist to get a barometer on rents.

Generally, Carmel Valley or UTC is a popular rental area because it has a lot of newer Multi-family property. Encinitas or La Jolla proper is more single-family homes with some condos mixed in.
