we are looking at staying a few months in winter.

detached quiet house preferred.

we went to a few sites and many of the homes were miles away - salton sea for instance.

is there a website where (preferably honest!!!) that lists longer than 1 minth?

San diego is our favorite, anywhere prom pismo south i warm enough.

The issue with your request was that it asked for something that's a bit of an odd duck. Too long of a period for an Air BnB style rental, and too short of a period for a standard rental which would require a minimum 6th month lease.

Other than saying "Extended Stay motels", who would've known the answer? Only the people who have needed this and done it could've offered information that was anything more than a guess.

Now, ask us something we know the answer to, we'll be all over it.

My uncle rents a condo on, or just a couple of building off, the water in PB or MB every year from November to March for the last dozen years or so. Call any one of the vacation rentals companies at the beach directly and talk to a human. I know he’s used San Diego vacation rentals, Bill Luther realty, penny realty, and different private parties in the past. I’m not out to give reviews, but let’s just say the companies are in the order of who I’d use first. Good luck, I’m sure you’ll have no problem finding something going this route.
