Point Loma (this includes Ocean Beach), some of the older apartment buildings downtown. As a single guy in my 40's, I find everywhere else to be either too suburban or too juvenile. I lived in Hillcrest for 2 years which is supposedly my age group, its loud (ambulances) crowded (parking) and is probably one of if not the most amenity rich neighborhoods. Something about it though where I'm not putting it at the top of the list. It feels cramped in a way downtown doesn't.

I like Point Loma because its calm and quiet without being suburban.

Well, 40-somethings live everywhere of course, but there are definitely high concentrations in The burbs where they raise families. What exactly are you looking for in terms of amenities?

In East County with their wife and kids. Well, I'm only 38 actually but I imagine not much will change in 2 years.

So do the nuclear-missile-carrying subs park in San Diego Bay? That's probably classified info but Trump said it was OK to tell us.
