Can anyone recommend a good restaurant near Petco Park? I'd prefer Italian or Mexican and am willing to pay whatever it takes to provide my adult son with a good memory of his first Padre game.

Bice, italian, was good and pricey.
Casual but very good are Berkeley's (deep dish pizza better than chicago), and Burger Lounge. Even smashburger is alright.

Tilted Kilt . Nice quality servers.

Otherwise, Spagetti Factory is great for family time.

Not that much of a fan of Bice--chain with 20+ locations...if the OP opts for pizza, I would steer them towards Basic Urban ( though not sure I would lump that in the good, want to impress someone category--unless I am misreading the OPs intentions...if a 5 or 6 year old kid he is bringing, then I would recommend other places than I have above...depends on his son's age--if young kid, not adult, then Basic or OSF for Pizza/italian and Blind Burro for Mexican.
