That would be my pick (along with Del Taco) - - but I'm not going to Santee to get the stuff. The drinks are good though. One needs to get closer to the city.

I hate it when good places go big and whack the portions in half and double the price. Rubios comes to mind as well as many good taco shops.

I had Sonic in AZ and it is very good. Wish they'd open one near me.

Remember when Krispy Kreme opened, same thing happened!

Well of course,lol

I do. At the time I was a newspaper reporter and I covered three of those openings in OC (including the first west of the Mississippi, as I recall) and San Bernardino County. The same lady was the first one in line at all three.
I loved those donuts, but not as much as she did.

Today I eat a double double at In'N Out and I didn't like it. I know this is sacrilege but the truth is there is not enough meat on those burgers. Yes, I like that the onion, lettuce, and tomato are ultra fresh and crisp just like I enjoy that the fries are fresh and crispy but that doesn't excuse the fact that the lettuce is larger then the meat on the double double. I want a huge hunk of cow flesh not two tiny hockey pucks. At least Carl's Jr gives you a massive hunk of meat while Jack in the crack might give you a smaller one (the Carl's Jr) but it is spiced and herbed to taste great.

Honestly, In'N out is ok but not great. It is so over rated as to be absurd.

Honestly a double double with two meat patties has only 1/8th of a pound of meat. That means each patty only weights 1/16th of a pound. Any way you slice that it is a joke. Every time I go to In'N Out I love how fresh everything is but I feel like the old woman in those 1980's Jack in the Box commercials shouting "Where is the beef?" We're literally left wondering where the hell the beef is because In'N Out sure as hell doesn't give it to you. Even McDonald's, which is utter crap, is more generous with the beef. In'N out ought to take the god damned stupid bible quotes off their cups and spend the money they had used printing that to give me some actual beef on my burger.

Well, from the to-each-his-own department, the things Oerdin noted are one reason I really like In N Out. I don't like packing 2 pounds of meat in at lunch time. I usually get a single animal style and it's just right. You don't have to be rolled out of the place when you're done. And it's cheap. Under $3.

I could see how that would be a plus for some people. Some of us are carnivores though.

Has anyone tried the Sonic in Santee yet? I've had Sonic before but it has been a good 7 or 8 years so I'm wondering what people's reviews are. I understand the lines are currently a mile long as Sonic is the new thing on the block so it will be interesting to see if Sonic has staying power or if they peter out like their first attempt in San Diego.
