Hi,
I will be moving to the Marina in April from Chicago, and I need to start looking for an apartment. Can anyone tell me some names of some apartment complexes in the area? I've done some research online, and I'm visiting the area in 2 weeks, but any info would be helpful.

Thank you,
Lori

Why the Marina?

SF and much of the "inner" Bay Area is not made up of apartment complexes, it's made up of individual buildings.

There are very few apartment complexes in the Marina. There may be a few (although I don't know exactly what you mean by complex; there are some apartment buildings, if that's what you're looking for) but like mayorhaggar notes, most of it is individual buildings. Your best bet is to check Craigslist for listings. Once you're in SF in person you might also see signs in the windows while you're walking around.

The Marina is my favorite district in San Francisco, I'm jealous!

Craigslist is a good place to start or you could talk to an agent. Large developments aren't common in the Marina.

I think the OP might referring to the big unit apartments plazas/ luxury buildings that are usually managed by property management firms. They usually have a more modern look compared to the older buildings on the block, but more expensive in terms of rent.

Try to get an apartment with a parking space. It's not really a deal breaker, but parking can be problem at certain times of the day. When I lived in the marina, parking was a pain if I came home late.

Thank you all for the advice! I'm sure when I get there and start looking, I'll have a better sense of housing in San Francisco!
