I am planning to move to SF (from Houston, TX) and work place is around San Francisco- Oak Land Bay bride (2nd Street). Please suggest a affordable/decent neighborhood (closet city/area) with good schools(middle/high). Do not mind driving about 45 mins either by car or public transportation.

also please let me know what other things I should be considering as far as move is concerned to SF.

-what's your budget?
- do you want to rent or buy, and how big of a place do you want?
- What sort of place do you want to live in--a dense inner suburb with mom n' pop stores, or a sprawling outer suburb with lots of big box stores?
- What kind of weather do you want--cooler in summer or hot and dry?
- knowing where on 2nd Street you'd be commuting would be good, if you're working near Market then riding on BART from the East Bay would be good, but if you're working down near the ballpark riding on Caltrain from the Peninsula would be better.
- plz spel betr if you want us to understand what you need to know. "Oak Land Bay Bride?" "Closet city?"

In any case, places like Walnut Creek and Pleasanton are pretty close to SF (like 35-45 minutes on BART to SF), not too expensive and have good schools.

There's a ton of similar threads with lots of good information on this site. You should skim through and come back to us with some specific questions, the one you asked is way too vague to answer properly.
