I would like to hear about your favorite restaurant that has good food for a reasonable price with fair size portions. Doesn't need to be cheap, just a good value.
Anyone have any favorites?

For good quality, affordable bar & grill food, my spot has always been Cato's on Piedmont Ave in Oakland.

Good, cheap, and comforting for me (especially on a cold gloomy day) is a large steaming bowl of pho.

I'm always eating out so keep them coming. I have these all written down. I have heard about Homeroom and Rudy's Can't Fail ( wasn't that reviewed on Diners and Dives?)

- Katz's Bagels: best bagels in SF imho
- It's the Tops: pretty good diner in SF
- Rudy's Can't Fail Cafe: good diner in Emeryville + Oakland. Great pancakes.
- Gioia's Pizza and Arinell's Pizza, both in Berkeley: best NYC-style pizza in the Bay Area. The Berkeley Arinell's is way better than the SF one for some reason.
- Zachary's Pizza: really good deep dish
- Cafe Brazil outdoor cafe in downtown Berkeley: the tri-tip sandwich is awesome.
- Sabuy Sabuy thai in Oakland: good and simple Thai food
- Osakaya in SF Japantown: great katsu curry.

Gone but not forgotten: Ti Couz on 16th and Tacqueria Azteca on Church. Azteca had the best chicken quesadillas I've ever had. RIP.
