Anyone have input on commuting by Golden Gate Transit buses between Sausalito and San Francisco?

More specifically, it would be from Bridgeway and Easterby (or an alternative convenient stop) to Lombard and Fillmore in the morning (and then back again around 4pm).

Are the buses generally on-time and convenient? Are they ever too full that you can't board? Do they take ages (relative to how long they're supposed to take)?

Considering a Sausalito move and wondering if that commute would be decent or nightmarish. Thanks for your help!

It's convenient. The bus driver handles the bridge traffic for you, so you can just relax. Of course traffic slows it down, but they try to calculate that into the schedule. Look at it this way; what other choice do you have? If you take the ferry, you still have to get to Fillmore. And you wouldn't want to drive. Take the bus, and relax. And no, I've never seen nor heard of them turning passengers away.

The buses can get busy during rush hour, but there's always a seat available. You would be riding the 2 or 10, neither of which are super crowded. Golden Gate Transit is much nicer than Muni.

Buses sit in the same traffic as everyone else, but otherwise they're always quick and comfy in my experience. The schedules are pretty realistic, but an accident on the highway will throw everything off. Golden Gate Transit will be getting Next Bus (i.e., real-time arrival information) later this year, so that will make the commute even easier.
