Okay, help with schools now. Does gilroy have good schools. I am currently homeschooling my kiddos, but my 13 year old was going to go to public high school next year. Moving from michigan, I was thinking about putting them all back in public.

Also, my 13 year old takes guitar and singing at a really awesome place here in mi. Would I have to look for something like that outside of gilroy.

What is gilroy like. My husband would be commuting to cupertino.

What about sports. My 12 year old is currently on an AAU basketball team.

I hope moving wont mess up my older kids. Any advice please on all theses kid issues

Gilroy isn't exactly considered the Bay Area. You might get more responses if you posted your questions on the California forum then included Gilroy in your subject line.

Actually, I'd post it in the San Jose forum instead.

What cities are included in the Bay Area. And what would be considered the cheapest.

Well, I would start with a map of San Francisco and surrounding areas. On the north end, anything south of Windsor. To the east, I'd say anything west of Stockton. To the south, I'd say anything north of San Jose. (Others feel free to correct me. It won't hurt my feelings)

As for what's cheapest, the farther away from San Francisco the cheaper it gets, with some exceptions.

Gilroy has two high schools. One is ranked 7/10 and the other is 4/10.

Christopher High in Gilroy , CA - ranking, school information, ratings, test scores, test results

I would look into alternate locations that may have Apple shuttle buses, like Pleasanton.

Also if your husband is successfully employed in Michigan I recommend staying there. A move to the Bay area for a small raise is not worth the huge downgrade in one's quality of life. Only move if the choice is no job or a job in the Bay area.

Boy, that's quite a grand generalization loaded with heaps of presumptions based on zero information. I'm impressed!
