Hi everyone, recently moved to SF and landed a small place at Fell & Laguna. So far, I've felt safe walking around the neighborhood, but are there any streets/blocks I need to avoid? Particularly walking my dog at night? Thanks so much! Help is much appreciated.

It's a good area. Fell between Van Ness and Market is a bit scary. But really anything west of Van Ness is pretty safe.

Except for that time recently where there was a 4-person gang murder at Page & Laguna.

I lived in Hayes Valley for many years. It's a terrific area - but anywhere in the inner city is going to have the potential for problems. Generally, in a residential district, the busier the street the less chance of trouble. And remember, night changes things. In summary - reasonable attention, not paranoia. Enjoy the neighborhood.
