By public transport, do you mean mass transit?

If so, here's one possibility:

There are three options.

Caltrain is the fastest one. The stations are at 4th & King, San Francisco, and El Camino Real & Broadway, Redwood City. $4 a ride.

Then there's the KX express bus, which runs all day but not overnight. Also $4 a ride into or out of San Francisco, and slower, but more flexible. Also serves the San Francisco airport.

Then there are the 391/397 buses. Strangely, they don't serve San Francisco midday. 391 runs to the city only during peak weekday commute hours, and the 397 runs from midnight to 5 am every night. $3 to leave San Francisco, $1.50 to get back in, but good god are they slow.. two hours each way to anywhere in Redwood City.

Hi everybody! Does Caltrain offer a direct service between SFO and Redwood? I mean, I won't have to combine multiple buses if it is possible..

It's direct if you're talking to the city of SF. There are 3 Caltrain stops in SF: 4th and King (all trains start/end here), 22nd street (all SB trains in morning and NB trains in evening stop here), and Bayshore (once an hour local trains).

If you're talking SFO (the airport), then you take Caltrain to Milbrae. From there, you connect with BART and take it from Milbrae to SFO.

Redwood City receives most Caltrain trains (one express train per hour skips it in the morning/evening), but check the schedule to confirm that the train you're on stops there.

Yes, if your talking about SFO as in San Francisco International Airport. You take the train (CalTrain) to Millbrae CalTrain/BART station and then catch the BART into SFO.

You could also take CalTrain to Millbrae and then take BART in to San Francisco if a BART station is closer to where you're going in San Francisco compared to CalTrain. CalTrain is very limited to where it has station stops. BART has more locations in the city.
