Los Altos Elementary Schools (San Jose, Daly City: school district, moving to, rich)

We are moving to the Bay Area later this summer and are looking for some recommendations for elementary schools in the area. We are used to the quality of education in Massachusetts which I get we are not going to get in the Bay Area. Based on our research and diversity needs we have narrowed it down to the Los Altos school district. The ratings and the scores look great but we would like to understand more about experiences that people have had or heard about.

We would like to avoid schools where kids only come from an extremely rich household or if there is not enough diversity like the Cupertino district.

Also - open to other schooling district and recommendations. Are there any good private schools to consider?

Los Altos is even less economically diverse than Cupertino. As for human diversity it's more diverse (that's true for much of the Peninsula, even "Asian" oriented communities like Daly City, Millbrae, etc). If you can afford it, go for it!
