But how likely is that? Uber is not going bankrupt anytime soon. They just got $3.5 billion from the Saudis.

They aren't even breaking even. It's just delaying the inevitable. Heck they're losing billions in China.

Amazon lost a lot of money too. They're still here.

I don't normally agree with PermaBear, but he may be right for reasons he doesn't fully understand.

There's a growing asset bubble due to long-term low interest rates. Housing is included in that asset bubble.

This is also a pretty universal and global bubble, which includes anything that involves leveraging(real estate, stocks, etc)

Look at Vancouver right now. A lot of banks are refusing to even issue mortgages right now due to the risk.

The "canaries in the coal mine" are a drop in luxury home sales and when mega conglomerates start selling off loads of their real estate. Both things happened before the crash in 2008, and both of those things are happening now.

So is it time to sell, sell, sell?

I've considered selling, I'd probably be able to sell over double my original purchase price for both my California properties.

Exactly. I can't take Neutrino's thought process seriously.

Could I go buy a SFH in a questionable area? Sure.

But I have children, and I'll be damned if I'm raising them in some ghetto place with 2/10 ranked schools. Bay Area is a joke for those with families. And no, I'm not raising my family in a 2 bedroom apartment complex like he feels is completely normal and ok for a higher income family.

I did that when I was 19 and in college. Not married with two kids. I need a SFH. And I can't buy one I'd want, and if I could, I still wouldn't buy one because $700k+ for a tiny old home is so wrong. I'm moving out of this area shortly and can't wait to get back to a normal life.

The Bay Area is a great place to VISIT.

Says the guy who thinks the only acceptable form of housing is a SFH in an excellent school district.

I linked a condo, not a SFH, and it is not a questionable area.

It's not a joke at all. There are many housing options for people who make the median income and wish to live in a residence with more than one room.

If you disagree, explain how others are able to afford to raise a family on the income you make and live in the Bay Area spending only 1/3 of their income on housing. Because many do.

100k is the median income for the area. It is not high income in this area.
