The only thing it really has over the other two is affordability. SolTrans is a terrible bus system btw.

Um, yes. I've been saying for years that Vallejo is a likely great long-term investment. It will turn upwards sharply. It's starting to happen already a bit, as the article points out.

Vallejo residents who work in SF spend 3 hours each day commuting. Crime and blight are less forgivable when you're sacrificing so much time to be there.

Yep. And the crime rate in vallejo is twice the national average. And, yes, i should have been more specific and said something like "core bay area refugees" as yes i know vallejo is on the bay. But thats the point it is so damn far away it feels like a completely different area. Who would want such a long commute unless they really love the ferry? ( i hear "mixed" reviews of the daily ferry grind).
