I knew I was making a good decision. I feel like this town is on the rise.

WOW! Vallejo looks really cool! It looks like parts of SF used to look. Unfortunately, once it gets "discovered" and begins to gentrify, the cool parts will disappear. No one will be able to afford to maintain funky coffeehouses and art studios there. Enjoy it while you can, OP!

Thanks! I'm really glad people are starting to look upon Vallejo favorably!

I wouldn't live anywhere near there. Might as well live in Pittsburg or Antioch. Same types of people are in all three towns.

You mean criminals....

There's a reason crime is double the average in Vallejo for most major crimes. Such as property crimes, robbery, rape, etc...

I'm not saying all of Vallejo is bad, I like the area down by water/marina. But it's known for having some less than desirable people. Be careful. I'm glad you like it though, to each their own!

Vallejo does have some bad areas, but there are a ton of good people there.

I haven't spent a ton of time there, outside of working on the "cleanup" of Mare Island. When I first moved to the Bay Area about a year ago, I looked at a few places in Vallejo, but the overall crime rate made me weary.

I don't doubt there is some good people & good things going on. Enjoy it!

Sorry I came off kinda snippy. It's just everyone has such a negative viewpoint of this city and it's not even the worst city in the Bay Area. Everyone seems to rave about how great Oakland is these days and Oakland's crime rate is WAY higher than Vallejo's.

I couldn't agree more as far as Oakland. I'd live inVallejo over Oakland anyday. Not only for crime, but there's just so many more people in general, plus it's over priced
