LOL- right perma bear!
I wonder if this information about billionaires has made the multi-millionaire public "servants" drool with purpose and renewed avarice ???
I mean---
Cap and trade is designed to kill business
The gas tax, water management fees, other fees and taxes plus all the money thrown at "homelessness" is designed to hurt middle and low income people just a couple examples ....but......
What about these billionaires?? how are the ultra rich public "servants" and their cronies gonna get their meat hooks into THEM?
Do the billionaires have some sort of "protection arrangement" with the public "servants" ? or ...can the billionaires protect themselves from the public"servants"? can the billionaires simply exist with all that money NOT being stolen and wasted? or are they on the menu like the businesses and middle and low income folks?

I would rather see homeless people trying yo make a living than giving them a home like Gavin wants to do or seeing them continue to depend on others to feed them.
I do what time allows me to do and Im grateful to be able to do something. I think having kids changed my outlook on life.

Anyhow, I agree with your post about making a living. As much as we want to help, simply giving them stuff for free isnt going to be as meaningful to them as helping them acclimate into productive, self sufficiency--nothing beats feeling like youve earned your keep.

It's just that the urgency of the situation in our area is immediate and some huge changes need to happen now...

and I see your side as well. I am just not sure the building homes for the homeless is the answer. I do feel like we need to help, but so often that help goes unappreciated or is really not wanted. We have a program at our church, our food bank that is very generous. The problem I even have with it: After 12 visits there are special supplies and additional item available. Every visit after 12 you get something more. It is like a frequent visitor program but how in the heck is this encouraging people to make an effort to help themselves?

Of course I think most of us realize or should, part of the problem now compared to 50 or so years ago has to do with the increase in drug use.
