I agree, the weekend, it was 80s in the East Bay, and a real hot afternoon. How I wished a cool breeze would blow to get it back to 60s.

But then, I didnt go to the beaches ...

It's all a matter of perspective and personal taste. The weather in the area is about the only thing I dislike. I was raised in a hot and humid climate. Winter was the dry season. I used to enjoy walking or riding my bike in a warm summer rain.

Just this weekend many people were complaining that it was so hot. From my perspective, it was the first time I've been really comfortable for months. I've lived here for a little over 20 years and still don't care for the winter here. I've lived in much colder climates but they were dry climates. It seems the cold fog creeps right into my bones. Even in a warm room, I feel the wet chill.

When summer rolls around it gets hot and dry. I don't really care for that much either though it's a lot better than the fog. I'm just more comfortable in a tropical climate. No place is perfect.

It's too cool, windy, and foggy overall. If there was less wind then 60's wouldn't feel so bad. It's rarely warm either in the city, but the good thing is that you don't have to go far for better weather. It's always too cold at night though even in the suburbs unless it's 95-100+ during the day the nights and early mornings will be cool.

I grew up in the Sunset district and fog is sentimental to me - lots of good memories hanging out with my buddies and such as kids. For most people, it's not so enjoyable, but I do love the weather. I can handle a foggy cold day in San Francisco more than I can handle extreme heat & humidity or very hot & dry desert weather. I think it gets down to the climate you grew up in you know. It tends to dictate what you prefer later in life in my opinion. I don't mind cold weather. I do love the sun, but the fog is okay too. It makes the City. We have so many climates in SF really - you can be freezing on one end and frying on the other. I always liked that if I wanted to experience "summer", I merely needed to trek over to the Mission District or Noe Valley to visit friends.

I think the fog is unique. I haven't seen any city with so much fog. At times, seeing the fog around the hills, golden gate, transamerica pyramid etc. looks pretty
