Something in another threat prompted this question.

I have never patroned Sacramento and Clemente Streets despite suggestions I've read in travel books. Just never took the time, I guess. So I'll ask you experts in The City. Would YOU recommend these areas for tourists, and what do you like about them?

Thanks!

Don't know about Sacramento Street (are you talking about Chinatown?), but Clement is mostly Asian restaurants... some of the best in San Francisco, so it's worth a visit if you like different types of Asian food. I can't think of any specific places to recommend, but you really cannot go wrong on Clement.

I think it's supposed to be an extended portion of Sacramento; however, I'm not as certain about this one.

Well, I ride 38 often when I'm there, so I'll leave room for some good Chinese on Clemente. Thanks for your input.

Perhaps you mean the "Laurel Heights/Jordan Park" area? Clement Street is nearby walking distance. Sacramento St at this end is very lovely with many Victorian and Edwardian style houses and boutique shops and nice restaurants.
