I'm from Seattle going to SF for the first time Labor Day weekend. I was supposed to go with a friend, but she bailed. I plan on seeing all of the normal touristy sites during the day. At night, where can a single female hang out and have a good time withou looking like a loser with no friends? (27 yo, half black/half white, not too into the club scene but I like bars and places with music and booze).

Actually, it's the only type of bar I enjoy, since I don't like the meat-market aspect when I go to non-gay bars.

Sorry the thread got off topic, LOL... and don't worry, there are plenty of non-gay bars to choose from! I just thought you were looking to have fun without feeling uncomfortable or harrassed, which is why I suggested the gay bars.
Just go downtown or to North Beach or the Mission, and I'm sure you'll find a place to party.
