Well, you try that out and we'll see how it works if we get another war lord President like Bush who also is tied up with corporations and oil. Maybe if you'd voted back then you could have made a difference. The statement you made is completely ignorant. Do you think you're proving a point by not voting? No one cares. But then I bet you'll complain if another Bush or someone like him comes to power. But I guess that gives us license to ignore you since you didn't actually bother to vote. Vote for someone who values common sense and decency rather than bemoaning the fact that a greedy war lord might win the next election.

part of the reason why the turnout for SF was low was Obama was declared the winner before the polling places closed. I've heard that many people decided not to vote once they found out he already won. But people need to realize that in local elections, individual votes have more weight and could easily swing the results.

Exactly. A lot of people go to the polls for something big like the general election to vote for the future President and then end up voting. Also, I think some people didn't want to wait in the lines that were in some cases up to two hours long or more.

I think people that don't vote should have their taxes raised. Apparently they don't care enough about their city/county/state/country enough to participate. Maybe if it cost them more they might just figure out a reason to do so.
