Any single women over 35 moved to S.F. alone? (Berkeley: live, restaurants)

I am thinking seriously about relocating to S.F. from the Boston Metrowest area. I am near 40, single, child-free, straight, and vegetarian. I am looking for more like-minded people to be around date/make friends with. I feel almost like an outcast here in MA. I visited S.F. in November for the 2nd time with a vegan who lives there in S.F. and I had the best vacation ever between the scenery and vegetarian restaurants. I am wanting to hear from any other single women who have made the move to S.F. alone and wondering how you are doing? Are you liking it? Regrets?

I recommend Berkeley over SF for you.

I grew up in SF....love it just the same. But...hmmmm....just a vibe I was picking up from your post that you may like Berkeley better. And it's slightly less expensive than the city.

I'm vegan, too, and I'm hopeful that being even 2 hours from the SF area (once I move) will mean that I can make some friends of like mind there and try out all the great places to eat in that area.
