Hey,

I'm looking to move to San Fran over the summer. I would really appreciate some help with getting a summer job and finding somewhere to live. If anyone knows of any jobs with apartments going, or if i could get some advice as to how to go about looking for a place to live for a few months, it would be much appreciated.

I'm 23, female, currently at university, and qualified to do anything office or customer service related, but i would love to do anything including bar work, coffee shop work or even just handing out flyers lol, as long as I can find somewhere to say lol.

Darielle x

Are you going to be continuing your education here or are you graduating? In the event that you're transferring schools, check in with their career placement office.

I agree also consider craigslist for both employment opportunities and housing.

Here are some other suggestions:

Put your resume up on the following websites...

CareerBuilder.com Jobs - The Largest Job Search, Employment & Careers Site

Find Jobs. Build a Better Career. Find Your Calling. | Monster.com

Hotjobs - Bay Area Jobs, Employment Classifieds - Inside Bay Area

More resources:

San Francisco Bay Area Job Listings

Bay Area Job Resources

Bay Area Career

JobStar San Francisco Bay Area - Local Area Job Banks

Job Placement Web Sites

With regard to housing, I'm not sure what your monthly income prospects will be, but craigslist is also most excellent.

Consider also:

San Francisco and Bay Area roommate finder service

San Francisco Bay Area Apartments Rentals Roommates - Bay4Rent.com

Roommate roommates and room for rent. Match roommate rentals roomate roomates rooms for rent roommate finder roommate search and apartment shares

One of the best ways to find a job or even housing is through your social network. There are a lot of jobs in the hidden job market. Check in with people you know and get the word out about your plans. You may be surprised that the six degrees of separation phenomenon may just land you the job you're looking for and the perfect place to live.

I wish you all the best!

Hey Darielle, I just noticed you're in the UK. Everything I wrote above still applies, but if you know anyone here already I would definately tap into them.

Good luck!
