I have a rental property that has a switch on the exhaust fan for the stove that doesn't work. I need to hire an electrician to (hopefully) fix it. I did search but can't find any recommendations in the forum. Can anyone suggest an individual or company to hire?

Has anyone had this problem? I'm afraid they might end up replacing more than just the switch.

I don't have a specific recommendation, but if it were my property I woudl do the following:

1. Look for bonded/insured electrcians in the yellow pages.
2. Call one or two and get a quote for replacement of switch only
3. Put ad on craiglist offering a labor gig paying 50% - 75% of the quote
4. Whoever contacts you from craigslist, make sure they're licensed/bonded and pay them to do the work.
