Any idea where I might be able to find langoustines? I realize they would have to be imported frozen from Europe. I called All Shores Seafood on advice received at Whole Foods, but turns out they don't carry it.

Try Neves, I see you're in Santa Clara. It's a Portuguese fish shop. Really small, but maybe they can order them.

Neves Fish & Mini-Market, 1495 Main Street (near the corner of El Camino Real), is open Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Information: (408) 244-3907.

Trade-Rite (Bacalau) or the fish store near it in Little Portugal might have it. Both are on either side of 101 on Alum Rock Ave. in east San Jose.

The guy at Neves said he'd never heard of langoustines in 31 years even at the warehouse, even after I wrote it down and named it "Norway Shrimp/Lobster".
The guy at the Fish store on Alum Rock/101 knew exactly what I was looking for but said - absolutely no way you'll find this here. It just doesn't sell.
Oh well! Next step is probably trying to buy it directly from an online European fish store, if there's such a thing.
As for Trader Joe's - I'll ask them next time but I'm highly doubtful. You're probably confusing with another type of seafood? They don't even sell European Orangina - only the Florida-made one, and they tend to let ham and cheese go pass the expiration date...

I found this online source. They're from Scotland, but ship out of New Jersey. A bit pricey...

Sorry, perhaps I misunderstood. Trader Joe's carries frozen Langostino tails, not the whole langoustines. Good luck with your search!
