We would like to get ready to sell our condo and need to put our books and some other things out of sight, but, haven't used a storage facility in the past.

Can anyone recommend a safe storage facility in the South Bay near Blossom Hill / Santa Theresa? Any thoughts on best lock to use to keep the snoops out?

Thanks for any advice you have.

There is a Public Storage at 88 Blossom Hill where the street ramps into the intersections with Monterey Highway and 101.

Marcopolo - Wow, yes I can type but don't know what other's personal experiences with the facilities might be. I don't expect any facility to say whether their units are broken into so, if anyone has any useful information, I would appreciate it.

Crescet22, I wonder whether you have personal experience with Public Storage as Monterey Hwy area is sketchy.

theres the one down here by me on monterey hwy right by the on ramp to bernal rd. i never used it or any other storage unit, but i do remember there was a good size fire there one time

Heidi in general storage centers are going to be in sketchy areas, if it was a nice neighborhood there'd nice housing instead of run down apts, quicky marts and storage units i reckon.

Public Storage has two facilities right across the street from each other at Santa Teresa and Coleman Ave. They're run by different folks, so prices vary between them. Upscale Blossom Valley location. Both are clean and very secure. I have personal experience with and can recommend the one on the SE corner, but both facilities look equivalent.

I'd stay away from the ones on Monterey. Good friends of ours have been ripped off at one of the facilities there.

Thank you for replies. About the only thing I know about them is try to get a facility that is well lighted and indoors. Oh, how I dislike the moving part of retirement!
