There probably is a population of LGBTs in Silicon Valley, mainly due to its liberal politics and diversity, but I have never seen them concentrated in an area, not even gay avenue san jose - Google Maps

Don't be afraid. They won't bite.

There are no gay neighborhoods, per se, but downtown is where many congregate, in and around South 1st St.

SV is very live and let live, you won't have a problem being gay anywhere around here.
The population density is relatively low, though, and it's pretty suburban so you won't have "gay area" like you would in SF.

No predominately gay neighborhoods, but I do know that certain more artsy areas in SJ tend to have a higher gay population than others (Willow Glen, Rosegarden, etc).

Burbank is probably the closest, lots of interesting and funky restaurants and close to Santana Row and the Tinker's Damn bar. There isn't one particular area where gays concentrate, but I think Burbank's smaller houses and the compellingly gritty feel of W. San Carlos and Bascom make it appealing.

No, not really. Although there is a concentration downtown and in the Naglee Park neighborhood just east of downtown.

You won't mistake SJ for San Francisco, but it is very live & let live, though. I am gay and I prefer the tolerant but low key vibe of SJ over SF.
