Oh, oops, it's a job-rich area roughly encompassing the area contained by 101, 880, and the bay: north San Jose, northern Sunnyvale, northern Santa Clara, Mountain View, and Palo Alto.

101, 880, and 237, and only the first three cities on your list, but with the addition of a small bit of Milpitas.

I've seen it applied to encompass Palo Alto. It's not really an official term, so the definition moves a bit from person to person. And the exact definition is irrelevant to a person from Kentucky figuring out commutes and where to move for the best neighborhoods and schools.

OP, Check out Arches apartments in Sunnyvale (borders Santa Clara): The Arches Apartments - 1235 Wildwood Ave - Sunnyvale, CA - EquityApartments.com

Pet friendly and your fiance can walk to work. Check if it works for you.

There are plenty of places to rent along Agnew and north of Agnew. You should be able to rent a SFH for ~3200 within walkable distance from Freedom Circle. I know that area a bit (my friends live there) so PM me if you need more info.
