I just moved to Santa Clara and want to find a good health club that has a pool. I know there are a lot around here like Gold's Gym and Bally's that either don't have pools or just have a small indoor pool. I really like swimming and don't want to have to go two different places to work out and swim so I want to find more of a "health club" in the area that has a bigger facility, maybe with a basketball court, a large pool, spa, etc as well as the weight facility. I'm willing to spend more on it since fitness is a daily and important part of my life. I'd appreciate any advice on where to look, ideally within a 15-20 mile radius of Santa Clara.. the closer the better. I haven't had much luck looking online as all the ones I find are just the small clubs without the pool and extras.

Thanks

Try the Decathalon Club on Central Expressway. Also, the old Siemens/ROLM campus across from Great America has just what you are looking for, however, I cannot say if anyone is operating the recreational facility or if it is open to the public. I was lucky enough to work there for 6 years - it was a bit dated, but it was still a treasure.

Also, the YMCA off of Grant Road in Mountain View has a pool and a large workout facility.

I haven't been there for a few years, but the aforementioned Decathlon Club was very nice, with a big pool, including lanes. And great equipment in general.

Membership could be a bit pricey, though, as I recall.
