Unless the guy sexually offends you buy it. It dont take much to be a RSO.

I'm just guessing that the house didn't get on the RSO list, the individual did.

When houses are outlawed only outlaws will own houses.

But if everyone was running around carrying a loaded house on 'em, would we be safer?

Default Property would appreciate

Likely the property value will sky rocket soon as you move in.

The O.P. didn't make that clear ... if he violated people in that home.

And we don't know what his crime was ... what kind of sex offender he was or is.
That's a problem with the sex offender lists.
A young man ... say 18 or 19 ... who had consensual sex with his 17 year old girl friend can be on those lists.
yeah, I'm one of those guys; I'm a sex offender by law but not by logic. I was 18, the girl I "offended" was 15 and guess when I found out her age? after I was arrested. Find out what the guy did and where it happened at......Besides, creepy stuff happed in a lot of our homes before we lived in them, you just had the bad luck to find out about this houses past.

I am troubled about a sex offender who lived at your home. We didnt care about the amount of unregistered murderers and drug dealers who live in the area that out number the sex offenders. Sex offenders and sex predators are two different classes of people but the law groups them all together. Sex offense laws differ from state to state. You can be charged for a sex offense for taking a leak in public. I have seen this event at a number of colleges and beaches on party night. I think we should label everyone who has committed adultery with another's spouse as a sex offense.

Curious...how did you find out in the first place that he was SO? Was it disclosed in the listing? Or by the realtor? I'd never even think to ask the history of the previous owners.......

Have you talked to any of the neighbors? Maybe you should ask them if they know anything about it, or what their thoughts are on the situation. usually neighbors will let you know what the vibe will be later.

If it is the "house of your dreams", then perhaps you are attempting to find reason not to purchase?

Follow your dream.

And then take the steps necessary to make that dream come true.

Just as stated before; "exorcism", purge the "bad energy" and fill the house with your own in your own way, if it requires ceremony, new paint, furnishings and remodeling, then do it and do not let anyone's previous actions interfere with your own.
