I've been trying for weeks to find a primary care physician. There are quite a few, and for some I have personal recommendations but in every case so far, they aren't taking new patients.
Tons of restaurants, galleries, supermarkets, hiking trails, etc.....but what's with the lack of Docs? I would think they would be flocking here given how great the area is.
Any ideas? I'm thinking I might have to look to ABQ for my primary.
Who have you called that isn't taking new patients? My PCP is an internist and is great; I can give you her name, if you are still interested.

Yes, please!
There are several parts to my difficulty.
First, my insurance doesn't work for everyone. But, it does allow me to go out of network, at some cost; which I will do happily to find someone we like.
Second, we'd much prefer to have our PCP also be Board Certified in Internal Medicine. Glad yours is.

You bet! I see Dr. Elisabeth Barkey, on St. Michaels, near the hospital. She's really great. Very down to earth. I've been going to her for a couple of years now.
I hope she is accepting new patients, and if so, that she takes your insurance--and that you like her! Best of luck!!
I'm new in town and was able to get an appointment at the Women's Health Center on W Alameda. I saw a nurse practitioner, who was fantastic. Suggest you try there. Good luck!
