I'd be interested in hearing about Aldea. What you like about it, what you don't like, driving time to Plaza, construction etc. or if you know about it but don't live there, please chime in!
I'll know at the end of the month but I sure wish people who live out there to chime in! Like you as we discussed want to be close to the plaza but still in a nice home.
There's not much activity there. It looks a bit like a ghost town. It looks mainly like a development of vacation homes that are vacant most of the year.
Driving time to what plaza? Santa Fe's? It's about 15-20 minutes. No traffic, unless you hit the rush hour on the final leg of the drive in, where the main highway feeds into Santa Fe.
A realtor said it takes 10 minutes to get to the plaza
According to Google it is 12 minutes. Google uses both posted speed limits on the roads that will be traveled as well as historical traffic patterns it analyzes. Coming from Aldea, you miss most of the major arteries where traffic affects travel time.
The plaza at Eldorado seemed nice had a grocery store and it is my understanding there is some "train" that goes back and forth. At least some locals told me that. I can't believe they would have that kind of transit. Maybe, I didnt look in the right areas but I wasn't thrill with what I saw. By the way I wouldn't know what to do if my ranch wasn't on a well with the amount of water we use here but then again when the ultilities are out I have no water. I did see one house that was quite nice. Isn't there a subdivision out there that says you can't have lights on at night that point up. Maybe that is wishful thinking!! The stars are something else there.
