My family and I will be in Florida for a week, from next week thursday. Mostly in Orlando and Disney world. I also want to visit Sarasota and Bradenton, since we are thinking about moving. What would be the best beach to visit? Any suggestions on a nice church? How is the economy in the area. Are there any signs of that we are moving out of the recession? I have many years of experience in custom woodworking. Is anybody hiring in the area? Or would it be possible to start my own custom woodwork business? Any suggestion will be much appreciated

Make sure you visit Anna Marie Island, and Siesta Key. Allow a day for each place. Both place has awesome beaches. If you have an extra day then travel a little further south and go to Boca Grande on Gasparilla Island. You won't be disappointed.
As far as custom woodworking, the construction market is extremely slow. But, you may be able to adapt and do some artsy woodworking type things. I have seen some really cool art lately where people find drift wood and make fish, and seabirds, and other objects like that. I think they sell well. I have NO artistic talent whatsoever, but I have my own skill-sets. I bet I can beat Charlie Moore with a fishing pole or emptying a beer can! ((if you know who Charlie Moore is)). I think he is afraid to call me.

My guess is that high end good quality woodwork will always be in demand and if you fit that niche you will make tons of money, since the high end reno market seems to be moving along.
