ours is a 1/3 to 1/2 of what it was. make sure that you have enought coverage. some agents down here like to write inadequate coverage.

Just got a quote from Geico for the same coverage I have in NY. My premium dropped $400 per year for Florida.

I am paying almost double on my car insurance than I did in NY. I shopped around when I first moved here and found the best deal. I think it is time to shop around again. Thanks.

I have max coverage on the important stuff and road service, etc. I like having lots of insurance I'm like Kathy Bates in Fried Green tomatoes... I'm older and I have more insurance LOL (ok, not the old part)

i use Geico, i've had Geico for years. I really should call around and comparison shop but I've been a happy customer with them for so long, if it ain't broke why fix it LOL I was thinking of checking out Progressive. I don't see the point of using an agent or broker though. Aren't they just a middle man? I was worried it would be more down here because I had read people b$t%c*g and moanin' about expensive down here.

I think I posted a while back that we had to switch since our company in PA doesn't write FL insurance, we went with Geico and our premium is HALF.

I am paying more than twice what I was paying before I moved here! I shopped around a lot and Geico was more expensive so I stuck with State Farm which was who I had in OR.

jnanner - Thank you so much for posting this thread. I got quotes for auto insurance today and they were all lower than I pay with Allstate. I have one more I am waiting on tomorrow, then I will make my decision to switch. I can't believe the difference. Every year since 2004 my auto insurance has gone up. I got a quote about 2 years ago, and it wasn't any cheaper, but now it is. I will save at least $250 a year.
