We do our entire house once a year, not necessarily just for mold but to keep it clean. You would be surprised how dirty it gets. We power wash the lanai and screens a couple of times a year. Some people go years without cleaning it. My parents have theirs done two times a year.

I powerwash my house 2x per year on warm fall & spring days (like TamRE said, you will be surprised how filthy it gets, especially the windows!). I do my lanai deck every 3-4 weeks (we don't wear shoes out there, but if there is any dirt, it will inevitably track into the house). Others never clean their lanai deck. To each his/her own.

Some people power wash only after seeing mildew forming. Probably because it costs $125 to have someone remove it. If you have your own power washer, you can do it every week if you want. There is no problem with washing concrete or screens as often as you see fit. But be cautious of how often you wash a shingle roof. Each washing will remove many pounds of granules. I have so called 'white' shingles and noticed that they were turning black, especially on the north side of the house. Had the roof washed and couldn't believe the amount of shingle granules that were on the ground and driveway.

this question is the same as how often do you wash your car. if it sits in the garage alot and when you drive it there is not rain you can go a couple weeks. with your house, alot depends on where you are. its pretty much on condition.. if its dirty wash it. you can pick up an electric power washer for around a hundred bucks. it will do what you need it to.

Don't mean to be stupid but do you also have to get up on the roof and do it also ? If so that would be a problem for me

in thinking about your question on the roof. if you have a build up of organic material like moss i would mix up some bleach and use a soft bristle floor brush and flush with a hose. that should kill what is growing there without subjecting it to the high psi of a power washer. the gas ones put on the pinpoint setting will go thru the shingles at the worst and at the least strip all the granules off.
