I started a thread yesterday and it is nowhere to be found. I don't know if I did something against forum regulations or not.

My question was if anyone had a recommendation for a company to use renters insurance.

Dunno what happened!!! But I think it's extremely necessary for 2014 when I think the next hurricane happens.

We used State Farm and it was inexpensive. We didn't have any reason to use it but it covered our personal property. It is always a good idea to have insurance on your property when renting.

Best deal I found was with Allstate. Seems, lately, a number of insurers, in the area, have stopped carrying rental policies.

@ TRosa and macyny :Thanks for the info. Wasn't sure if those companies were in the area or not.

@WantPalmerRanch: Yep gotta watch out for those hurricanes! But of course I think it's much more important to be aware of and sidestep the trolls, don't you?

Default Renters Insurance

We are in the process of getting quotes for renters insurance...anyone here on the forum have good advice on the topic?? We're new to this renting,..so not sure who to go with. I heard the average yearly cost is $115. The quote we obtained from Geico was a lot higher than that. Just wondering??

Advice?? Opinions??
