Hi Everyone,
My first post! I'm purchasing a new home in Bradenton, the Inlets at Harbour Walk.
Medallion Home is the builder.
I suppose I should have asked these questions before but can anyone speak to the financial health of Medallion, their build quality, and anything else good or bad from past experience?

The help is much appreciated...
Thanks,
MM

Hi, I am building with them in Country Meadows. It is just being tiled, cabinets in, etc. so don't know for sure yet per se, but so far I have been very happy in what I have seen. Kind of wished I could have afforded the inlets (well I could but...). I have actually GC myself (after I fired my original GC) on a house in St. Augustine, very high end... So, I learned a lot about construction, etc. Also your house will be built to 2012 codes (actually they are officially 2010 codes) so your getting better hurricane protection, etc. Please feel free to PM me if you would like or better yet email me at chuckb@cmx.com.

Thanks for the reply.
I hear you about affording the Inlets, went back and forth on that one for quite
awhile.
I decided I want to give the "boat life" a try, though I know nothing about boats!
This will be my retirement home and I'm very anxious at this stage of my
life that I get it right. Less time to fix things now.
Thanks again.

Good luck. Let me know how you make out. If you need a boating partner , let me know that as well. I have a boat that I am bringing down, but will dry slip it somewhere on manatee river. Take care.

If you don't hear from them by Friday morning, call my Sales guy from Country Meadows, his name is Sal and cell number is 941-769-8366. Tell him Chuck told you to call him and he should be able to help. Even though he does not work at the Inlets, he might be able to make some heads role, hopefully.

Or maybe call medallion direct, not sure of their main number, should be on their website. Good luck

I think they build a good home but I've had a couple of buyers who had problems with certain details being missed. To be fair, I think this happens with most builders but you just need to keep your eyes on things.

It's always a good idea to hire your own home inspector to go over your new home from top to bottom before closing, to look for anything that may have been missed. Usually it's just a few minor things, although one home inspection on a new construction home did find a cracked truss -- my buyer was definitely happy they had the independent inspection.

MM -

I am also building in the Inlets with Medallion. We are scheduled to close at the end of this month. So far, they have been really good to work with. This is the 3rd time we are building a new house, and it's been a good experience so far. Our sales agent is Becky Garman and she's been wonderful to work with. Steve Birtwhistle is our GC and he has been really responsive to any input we've provided.

Good luck and look forward to meeting you!

-JT

@jmtucker - Howdy neighbor! PM as to where you are located.

Everyone, thanks for your responses.
I think I've eased my worried mind considerably over the last few weeks and
this has helped.

I am now through the design center phase, selecting colors and upgrades and such,
and I believe construction starts early August.

Now I've changed to a "can't wait" state, need to get to the Sunshine state asap!
