My husband and I hired a babysitter for tomorrow night so we can enjoy a nice dinner
We'd like to head over to Burns Square but don't know of any places that might be good.

Any suggestions?

Thanks.

You might like this place: Salvatores Italian Kitchen and Southern Grill. It's really a combination of a couple restaurants, and the southern food is really delicious. Been there a couple times.

maybe too far bit we went to Cassarinos in Venice in the week, and without doubt it was the best Italian food we have had in Florida......great friendly service, nice atmosphere, up market (I have never seen 4 neck ties worn at once in any restaurant here :-) ) and the food was superb..............buffalo and carpacio appetiser was sublime, pasta home made ,lamb meatballs amazing and fresh tomatos......home made tiramisu and a very good wine list.

not cheap ,no freebies if you want that go to Olive garden, if you want GOOD food, give it a go

Ditto Owens Fish Camp.

If you like southern/seafood/low country. It made me feel like I was in Pawleys Island or Charleston, SC. The shrimp and grits were really good and I'm a shrimp and grits snob.

This looks very promising.

Family friendly?

Guess I'm in the minority here, but I did not care for Owen's fish camp. Long lines, and for average fried fish type food, I have eaten much better. Also really poor wine choices, and we like wine when we go out. Half Shell Oyster House on Main St. is much better (IMO, of course).

Anyway, while it's not bad, it's not great, either. JMO

We met some friends at Owen's a few months back. Had a nice meal for 4 & few glasses of wine (but nothing crazy expensive) but still walked out with $150 tab... how'd that happen?! LOL

Really liked the atmosphere but...

I agree with gypsy.

Sounding less promising. I really don't need another Phillippi Creek.

Meh.

Rushmore, it's just different. For example, cornmeal breaded catfish isn't everyone's idea of good fish but to me, it's home. They 'get' the idea of southern cooking and just don't throw shrimp and grits and mac and cheese on the menu and call it soul food or something similar.

I grew up with my grandmother having Karo syrup on the kitchen table as a condiment.

I also love the fact that they went so far as to make it feel like an authentic fish camp.

Yes, it is kid friendly.

YMMV.
