Does anyone have experience with decorative resurfacing on a pool deck as far as durability/quaility. I have poly pebble now that needs to be removed which is only about 1/2" thick so the resurfacing will be only that thick at most. I am told its some kind of concrete polymer mix that lasts a long long time. I am a bit skeptical and the price is 5K + (wow)!! I have been considering pavers vs tile as well. Any advise?

How hard is it to remove poly pebble myself?

We bought house built in 70s that had some remodeling by sellers--
one thing they had done was to resurface the lanai/pool area that had an original pebble/cool-crete type of surface that was agining and maybe cracking in some places...
they put down or had put down something that was supposed to look like stamped concrete but it was poor choice or poor instillation or both---
when we bought the house the surface was cracking and coming up in areas that got the most sun---
it wasn't in big pieces either--some of it was pretty small crumbles...
very uneven in thickness--like cake icing that was poorly applied...

too much involved in removing it -- we had pavers installed--
picked the wrong contractor to do it--
if you want a recommendation for a paver company I can tell you the guy I wished we had used...know he would have done more professional job...
the pavers were top quality--the instillation sucked---

I would not recommend any acrylic type polymer based on what we saw at this house--I think it was down only year or two...

two sites to check out--
Gardenweb forum for pools and patios--do a search
and Houzz website
you can search it for products and design/rehab info
