We have house in Nokomis that has had the piping replaced with pex...
we are going to redo the master bath soon--
what type of fixtures for shower and sinks would you recommend as far as better quality/not affected by the water...
Some brands use ceramic and some use brass -- plastic is out--
Brass is usually considered quality but would it be more vulnerable to corrosion--since the copper pipes original to the house were damaged by the water...

Also -- the fixtures that are installed now are chrome--
would a brushed nickle be that much more difficult to maintain?

we don't have a water softener system...just getting regular city water...

No plumber here, but from some DIY experience with fixtures over many decades and opins from a friend that is a plumber, it is not really a pick A or B question, imo:
-ceramic will last a long time and is easily replaceable like a cartridge, even for fumble fingers.
Ceramic parts are seldom found in normal 2 lever faucets, often just the one handle top fixture common in kitchens.
-brass is very good, but pricey and may corrode to some degree depending on your water. (All metals corrode, even 'stainless' steel, and most water sources tend to support some 'crud' buildup over time, in the 'valves' and other flow through parts).
-plastic has become ubiquitous esp in the big box stores and also spec'd by many new home builders, esp the typical FL home builder, in my experience.

No answer above, I realize.

We have V city water too, but have only been in our new north V house a few months, last 'season'. Back in mid November.
