Uber Service in sarasota (taxi, price, airport)

Hi

I was just wondering if anyone has used Uber in Sarasota for rides? If so, were you pleased with the service? Do they pick you up on time? Do they pick up early in the morning? I may have to use them for a Drs appointment and I'm interested in hearing your experiences with them.

I used they three or four times when I was down there - it worked out well.

I have gotten rides to the SRQ airport and to TPA - very reasonable!

As far as them being around very early...I don't wake up that early, but I think I had them come at 8am one morning.

What you should do is check the app early one morning just to make sure a few cars are around at that time (do not ask for the ride......just check the app to see if at least 2 or 3 cars are active close by).

Thank you for the info. I'm new at this so I tried your suggestion this morning to see if rides are available at 6:30 am. Wouldn't you know it, I accidentally scheduled a ride! I had to cancel since I was only looking. Oh well. They do have some drivers out that early, just not as many. Thanks again.

I've used the service quite a few times here in Sarasota, I've always been quite pleased, however, I've only used them in the evenings. Only thing, if there isn't a driver in your area when you schedule, they may charge more and will give you the option to accept the higher fare or pass on that ride. Waiting a bit longer may or may not produce a different price. When that happened to me, I just accepted the higher fare, couldn't be bothered to wait, it was still less than what any other service would have charged me.

I guess compared to a taxi. I've been looking at their map and didn't notice many available cars that early.
